Reni's artistic interests began at a young age with classical piano training and modern dance lessons. She sold her piano to finance a move to New York City and attend Columbia University's Creative Writing Program, where she threw DIY concerts in her dorm room and cut her chops at Sidewalk Cafe's open mic night, home of the Anti-folk movement. At 19, after touring The Netherlands in support of her first independent effort American Baby, Reni was signed to Custard Records who released her major label debut, Ready on Universal Motown.

Ever since Ready, Reni has been on the road and in the studio expanding her artistic arsenal. She toured as The Like's keyboardist opening for the Arctic Monkeys in support of their album Release Me (produced by Mark Ronson) and co-wrote and co-produced a one-off concept album with Joseph Arthur & Gary Go under the moniker The Actor. In the past year alone she's performed on The Late Show with David Letterman, made her debut as a visual artist at Bushwick Open Studios, shared the stage with Jeff Ament (Pearl Jam) and Mike Mills (REM) during Arthur's Lou tribute album tour, and had her various creative offerings featured in Paste, USA Today, Sundance Film Festival and SXSW Interactive.

She can currently be found in New York City playing shows with her eponymous band and fronting retro-dance duo Fever High with bandmates Adam Schlesinger and Anna Nordeen.

Whether it’s fronting her band in Brooklyn, whipping up songs for mobile app Keezy or creating a performance art piece for Cutlog Air Fair, Reni brings a bracingly vulnerable voice to the space between music, technology, art, and the extreme. A compelling performer and formidable songwriter, Reni has collaborated with seasoned veterans like Linda Perry and Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne, Ivy), lent her voice and multi-instrumental skills to Duncan Sheik and Howie Day, and opened for acts like The XX, Owl City, and She & Him.
